(SCUTTLE TOWN) Shantae and The Pirate's Curse: All the Cacklebats/Heart Squids in Scuttle Town.

This will be a 6 Part Series for the locations of all Heart Squids and Cacklebats on each island on Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. By getting all of the Cacklebats, you can unlock the extended ending for the game. As for the Heart Squids...maybe you just have a "Completionist" within you. ;)

Here I'll start with the first island!

Scuttle Town 

Cacklebats: 5

Heart Squids: 6

Cacklebat #1-

Utilities needed- just your attack

The first Cacklebat of Scuttle Town is met when you continue the story. It appears in your Uncle Mimic’s lab with you and Risky.

Cacklebat #2-

Utilities needed- just your attack

This second cacklebat is located outside of Shantae’s house. Just west (or one screen left) of Scuttle Town. An easy one to find.

Cacklebat #3-

Utilities needed- Boot Upgrade, Hat Upgrade, Cannon Upgrade

The 3^rd Cacklebat here is found to the very west of Scuttle Town, past Shantae’s house and far out past where the Mayor is chilling. You need some upgrades to get here. If you find that you can’t reach this spot, then come back and try again before you face the final boss! By then you should have all the upgrades you need.
-Don't forget it's to the right of Shantae's house and the cliff where the mayor usually relaxes. To get here requires a long jump using the upgrades I highlighted. Just return once you have the upgrades :)

Cacklebat #4-

Utilities needed- Cannon Upgrade

This fourth Cacklebat was a little tricky to find. Anyway, this Cacklebat is located in the first part of the forest in Scuttle Town in an area above the top tree to the very left. As soon as you go past the old man who saves your game, go to the next screen which is the forest. From here, jump and climb the first tree’s branch ledges while heading west and jumping up at the same time. There will be a spider hanging on a tree branch on the tree where you need to jump to and cross. In this place, the Cacklebat hides in a little grotto. Take it out!

Cacklebat #5-

Utilities needed- Boot Upgrade

To get this Cacklebat, you must do the following. Enter the 3^rd screen in the Palace Sewers(which is located all the way to the right of Scuttle Town under the Palace). Upon entering the 3^rd screen,  destroy the blocks by either shooting the bricks or by using your hair. Return back to the spot you entered when coming into this area. Walk and use your boot upgrade to ram all the way to the next screen. If you are still running, you’ll crash into the wall in the next screen and a Cacklebat will fall from the ceiling. Kill it and take its magic!

        









Heart Squid #1-

Utilities needed- none

To get this Heart Squid, all you need to do is walk left of Shantae’s house. 

Heart Squid #2-

Utilities needed- none

This one is located to the right of Scuttle Town toward the fields with the Scarecrow-like guys. It’s up on a pillar platform that’s accessible to by jumping.

Heart Squid #3-

Utilities needed- Cannon Upgrade

This one is located in the forest one screen after the second squid. Since it’s high up, you'll need the Cannon Upgrade. So don’t fret! Get the Cannon and return here.

Heart Squid #4-

Utilities needed- Cannon Upgrade

This Heart Squid is located in the forest past the guy who saves your game. You can see it if you jump up from a tree branch ledge while you’re under it on the far right of this screen. To get it you again need the Cannon Upgrade. Get it and come back.

  

Heart Squid #5-

Utilities needed- Boot Upgrade

This Heart Squid is located in the Sewers under the Palace located to the far east in Scuttle Town past the forest. Once you’re in the Sewers, head down to the part where there are purple blocks in your path. Break those blocks and use your Boot upgrade to ram through to the next screen. Keep running into the next screen, and ram Shantae into the wall. With that, you will find yourself under a Heart Squid. (note: this method was how you get Cacklebat #5, so look at that part if anything. Maybe you've gotten it already~)

Heart Squid #6-

Utilities needed- None

This Heart Squid is located in the Squid Smith's place in Scuttle Town.
